[REL]Docked Arado Seaplane
This is just a very small "eye-candy" mod to include in one's German harbour ports. It enables one to place an Arado float plane docked on the sea in port.
There are two skinned versions included in this mod. The folder "new Arado" is to be used with GWX and the folder "old Arado" should be used with stock or any of the other major mods. You can D/l it here: http://files.filefront.com/RELDocked.../fileinfo.html or from my Sig. In Game examples: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...u/docked-1.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...u/docked-3.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...u/docked-4.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...u/docked-5.jpg And finally "bringing in the Air Mail" http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...u/docked-6.jpg |
History & Installation
Basically what I did was clone the Arado files, export them to wings 3D & stopped the propeller, then imported the files back into SH3 using pack3D. The zon & sim files were also removed to enable them to be placed stationary on the water. They are typed as ("type 306-enviroment)" and will not be reported by the deck crew.
Installation: Place the data file folders (ex:ALBS_PortArado or ALBS_HeloArado) into the shIII/data/Air folder then place their named "CFG" files into the shIII/data/Roster/German/Air folder. (NOTE: Use "new arado" file for GWX and "Old arado file for stock or other mods" To have them show in game-you must manually place them using the shIII Mission editor. It's actuualy not hard to do. Just open the Campaign_SCR file in the editor, Click on the "port arado" or "helo arado" (depending on the version) from the German Air roster, then drag it and place it where you want it on the water. Set a small waypoint then "head to waypoint" to have it facing the direction you want it to. Finally right click on the arado icon on the map, Chose properties, set it's speed to 0 KTS and for best effect set it's height to 2 meters, then save it. Then save as Campaign_SCR (remember to back up your SCR campaign file just in case). One small quirk with this mod is that the docked arodo's will not "roll with in-game wave motion". It's only noticible when very close up in external camera view. In-game pics are included in the mod package & above for you to see and make your own choice. I actually made this about a year ago but left the forum for awhile & forgot it on my fielfront page. It wasn't advertised but seemed to be already downloaded some so figured I'd just make it a public release to have it out there for anyone that wanted to use it & did not know about it. If anyone has the old test version-there has been a few small revisions to the original. GWX users might note if their using the Kiel lock mod that there is an Arado parked on the water near it. I have checked & it seems to be just part of the "harbor Dat" file. There is no folder for it it any Air Roster & no way to script it from the editor. I checked & confirmed with Privateer that it is not part of their file structure. Anyways, this just lets you place the docked plane anywhere you want to. This mod can be used or modified as anyone sees fit. No permission from me is required. I would like to credit and thank the following for permission to use their files: 1.) Sergbuto for the original arado, 2.)Rubini, 3.)GWX & SquareSteelBar for the GWX skinned version . Also thanks to rubini for his idea from a ways back of using type 306 instead of the past version (type 305-helo) & Privateer for taking time to check the background on the GWX 1.03 version. If using in one's own mod--remember to credit the original Modders. |
