[REL] Sea Worn Boat Mod (SWBM) 1.0 - Finally!
SWBM release is finally ready!
Get it here: http://hosted.filefront.com/DeepSimulations/ Direct FF Down Load Link: http://postdownload.filefront.com/12...c9c70d032a9759 Sea Worn Boat Mod (SWBM) 1.0 JSGME Compatible This mod makes the following changes to the Sargo, Gato and Balao classes: - Modified interior textures - Two optional new skins on exterior, one depicting a veteran boats that has seen a few patrols since their last dry dock and paint job, the other depicting a boat with a quick paint job and hull scraping. Early war black skins have also been modified to be a bit darker black than stock. - Modifications to maximum surfaced and submerged speeds, to depict reduced engine efficiency - Submarines sit lower in the water than stock. This is reflective of the fact that submarines on war patrol tended to carry some water ballast, both to reduce sillhouette, as well as to provide a safety margin of reserve potential buoyancy This mod should be compatible with with most mods. It should be installed with JSGME over other mods (ie: last) for all features to work. ****Please note, the performance changes and surfaced draft required changes to each sub's SIM File. If you find that your boat is not sitting right in the water when used with other mods that make changes to the SIM File, simply go to the Data/Submarine/NSS_(subname) folder and delete the SIM file from this mod. This will remove all performance changes, and leave just the texture changes. |

This mod will affect the interiors of all boats due to them sharing some interior files, though the differences will be most noticed on the Sargo, Gato, and Balao due to the changes in the light maps on those boats. |
thx for the MOD
I wanted to thank you for the work you put into this mod. It has improved my enjoyment of gameplay. Visuals can make a big difference in immersive games. I did want to ask you about the gauges in the image below:
http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/9641/gaugesxs3.jpg Image of aft wall of CT These and others have been filled and some made functional in the following Mod: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...erior+overhaul I have been trying to combine the two mods but haven't been very successful. I could use some help if you are willing. When I have combined the two mods, the problem I'm having is that your wall textures turn jet black. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your patience. |
just a little more persistence
You can ignore my post above I got both mods working together. It just took more trial and error. I don't think there is much else I could do to the inside of my boat, except maybe the addon 3D rooms if it ever gets finished and released. Love your work keep it up.

I'm really enjoying your fantastic mod,Thank You for your hard work skipper.
|
Glad to hear you're all enjoying. It got kind of quiet after I released it.
@ Matilda: Glad you got your guages back. What file was in conflict? Which Mod? |
Never fails, DS. Seems like there is a quick spurt as all the pioneers get the mod, then absolute silence until someone posts that they tried it and liked it. When people start talking about it the downloads finally start in earnest. You did good!

screenies helped
The screenies helped me to decide to try this mod btw. I didn't lose gauges they are not normally there. Well the holes are there but there is nothing in them. The mod that was crossing files with yours was Gato Interior Overhaul ver 1.0 It was putting gauges in those holes but was ruining the texture work you had done in the CT. I did some trial and error to find out which files did what. Then separated and combined the mods. No big deal, just crushing two good mods into one mediocre one.

I thinks this is a great mod, I got alittle tierd of a perfect boat even after a year of patroals.:D ;)

Thanks for the kind words.
