Adding Merchants To Campaign
Hello All,
I recently downloaded and enabled (with JSGME) Iambecomelife's Arrow Tanker for SHIII. I am using GWX 2.1 with SHCommander 3.1. Is there anything I have to do to make this ship "show up" in the historical campaign? I am in late '39 right now so I won't be shooting at this ship for quite some time. I am just curious as to if anything needs to be done for this ship to spawn in convoys, alone, etc. Thanks in advance for any answers! Adam |

To use it in the mission editor dont you need to add its name to the Roster file EX EnglishNames .CFG
|
It is a unit type 101, so it should show quite regularly.
There is a readme with the ship instructing you to add: T09A=Tanker 09 to the EnglishNames CFG http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif |
So I have been doing the right thing the whole time. Cool:lurk:

So, am I to understand that by merely following the installation instuctions this ship will show up randomly during the compaign? I installed with JSGME and added the T09A=Tanker 09 to the englishnames.cfg file in SH3Root\data\sea. Is this a correct assumption? That's not bad at all. I am really looking forward to iambecomelife's merchant fleet mod. It should be great!

I'm curious, how does the game know that a newly added ship belongs to a certain type? Is it written in the .cfg files in the Roster folder, under UnitType (101 = tankers, 102 = cargo, etc.)?

Sea folder cfg [Unit] ClassName=T09A UnitType=101 < Tanker MaxSpeed=11 Roster folder cfg [UnitClass] ClassName=T09A UnitType=101 < Tanker AppearanceDate=19380101 English Cfg file in the main Roster folder ;Merchant ships Type100=Replenishment Type101=Tanker Type102=Cargo |
Thanks!
