Age Old Problem Solution Maybe???

lo guys

was looking through a few old posts and come across a common problem...one i too posted about.

when in tc...and youre not looking at the screen...you can miss a large convoy or task force thats placed on the nav map...but quite far away from your boat.

quite infuriating...as i like to read on long journeys...only to look up and see a wee square was on my map about 14hours ago:damn:

normally even using commander..adjusting the tc to 1 on most settings doesnt work...as the reports of the convoy/lone ship/ task force is not in the immediate vicinity so doesnt apply.

now i know nowt about the files that make the map work...but i was thinking..if it was possible..that when these reports are generated.....could it trigger sh3 to send you a message from bdu????

this would knock you to tc1..and catch your attention...you know the morse sound etc (or whatever sound you use)

the message could be about anything...weather report...whatever.

could these be linked

or am i dreaming again??

Im not certain but i slightly remember that after i added "gwx 2.1 mission orders light" to gwx bdu msgs about convoy contacts wont cause tc jumping to 1 anymore regardless of any tc setting in sh3com.

update on the issue:

i just installed thomsens soundpack v3 and all of the sudden tc jumps from 256 to 1 as soon as i get a bdu report about a convoy several hundret km away without changing anything else. :D

sounds promising nirwana.

i just though that if someone knew how the wee icons were created....even randomly....then it could somehow trigger a message as a kinda realistic ingame way of jumping back to tc1.

hope your good fortune continues:up:
