:hmm: I wonder what that insignia would fetch today, on E-Bay or an alternate site , if someone had had more foresight than passion?

After years of being shot at by Nazis, I feel certain that, however much it might've eventually been worth, the payoff of blowing it to hell was priceless.:D

It was a big publicity and propaganda device. It was filmed and shown in theaters throughout allied teritorys.

It simbolized the fall of the third riech.

That in itself far surpasses any material values.

Agreed, plus today it would probably be in a museum rather than a private collection, and thus not have any real monetary value. I like that it was blown up.

Interestingly enough, it was mentioned as it being use for morale, which it was. Big confidence builder that the expense was woth it all.

I inherited a Nazi Battle Flag from my uncle who served in WWII. Being as I was in the U.S.M.C. in the early 80's, I know what it means to respect our flag. The Nazi battle flag that I have is crumpled up, lying in a corner of my closet. That is what I think of that thing.

By the way... why is this still in the SH4 section?

Seminole 08-26-08 04:30 PM

Maybe someone thought this was an ariel torpedo attack.:shifty:
