Bearings in Binocular view?
Playing GWX 2.1, so does anyone know how to get back the bearing marks in the Binocular view?
I know bearing marks are unrealistic in real binoculars but the game presents limitations on ones normal ability to recognize the direction in which one is facing. So, looking through the game's binoculars there is no way to judge approximate direction as the binoculars rotate. This is a piece of information that I miss. Any help would be appreciated. |
I can't find the original post, but I copied it to Notepad the first time I saw it.

Having 2 bearing files works out very well because I use a 1-degree scale for the UZO and periscopes and a 5-degree scale (the original bearing file) for the bioculars. Simple method to get Bearing marks back in Binoculars in GWX 2.1: Locate the bearing_original file in this path: SH3/data/Menu/Gui Create a JSGME mod with the path: your mod name/data/Menu/Gui and then paste the original bearing file into the Gui folder. Rename Bearing_original to Bearing2 and save Copy and paste your JSGME mod to the SH3 Mod folder Use Mod enabler to install. Hope this is helpful. And again, thanks Sailor Steve, you led me to the right place! |
Lol resurrecting old thread. I must say it! DAMN thx for this post, I was able to fix the same problem! Also thx for zelda, danlisa and steve!

The funniest part is, I found it to be much more realistic without, so after Sergbuto's Camera Mod put it back in (albeit static and stuck on '0') I used that file to take it out, not replace it!:rotfl:

Yea, you can remove the bearing from uzo and peris.:p
