wth...someone has attacked my convoy !

After nearly 2 days of looking for the reported large convoy i finally got a visual contact with one of the trailing escorts. :o To my surprise it was furiously handling its searchlight and open fire with its guns. Zooming in i see its fighting an ai-sub obviously landed some hits on the convoy earlier trying to outmaneuver the flowerpot with scope up at periscopedepth.

:hmm: Til now i was convinced that the game engines is not able to emulate a successful sub attack like a user on a convoy with a following duel with an escort though i saw sometimes a burning DD entering a harbor for repairs.

:stare: Anyway im really pissed that it will be now more difficult for me to engage the convoy. Everyone now is on battlestation zigzagging like chicken detecting a wolf.....:damn:

Looks like it was a deckgun attack inspite of 12m waves... the captain must be nuts :88)

Now its getting really weird.... those are  two convoys running over the ai-sub at the same time. 1st is going E the 2nd SW each one with 34 merchants, 1 dido, couple of tankers and lots of escorts and i have already used most of my eals in previous engagements :damn:

The AI sub/wolfpack attempts do add a great deal to the game IMO. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/images/icons/icon10.gif Well i got my share sinking 4 large cargos, 1 large tanker, 1 small tanker, 1 small cargo, damaged the dido cause the escorts were busy circling the floating damaged tankers 10km away damaged by the ai-sub earlier still looking for it. Then they rushed to the ships i hit , i outflank them and took care of the tankers they were circling before and escaped flank surfaced.

It was crazy i could run :doh:flank between 2 rows of merchants about 700m apart to get ahead of the convoy to attempt another run without detection. The result is as i planned receiving the convoy report in the beginning but how much afford it took and how much coffee/smokes it required was horrifying. A half dozend time i thought "thats it .... they got me" .

path of destruction (there are more pictograms of successfully sinkings by me but some are somehow bugged. They were taken out by the other sub)

I use olc's uebermod and high resolution maybe thats why the pics are so dark....
