What the hell were they thinking keeping that stuff on memory sticks? I guess next they'll tell you that it's OK, the data was all encrypted and no one will figure out that the password is I_can't_fiind_my_arse_with_hands. Ah, oops

When it comes to data there is one cardinal rule.
If you make it easy for the good guys to transport it you are making it easy for the bad guys to transport it Sensitive data should not be on laptops, memory sticks, CD/DvD, etc. I don't care how convenient it is for you. I don't care that you want to use the trendy new technology. I want you to keep the data secure. If that means putting it on a standalone system chained to a desk in a locked room, so be it. The security of the data must take precedence over the convenience of the data user. |

There - glad I fixed that problem for future generations to come. |
Everything should work out fine in the end....it looks like they could all be entitled to some form of financial compensation :nope:
|
They're criminals - and if they're done over because of it then they'll be done over by criminals.
My sympathies are extremely limited on this one. |
How about we pay any compensation they receive out to their victims :p
