[Req] Awards criteria suck!
 

I just sank two light cruisers in two days, and got NOTHING!!!
In an S-Class! In 1942!
Each time I got off a contact report and got an attack mission as well.
Hell, I should get the bronze star for just going on patrol with the thing.
Moore got the navy cross for one (allbeit heavy) cruiser about the same time in RL.
Where are these stored, they have to be changed...
Any .sim file we can access??

What mods have you installed? As far as I can see, the stock version awards medals way to easily.

At least the Japs didn't award them clincky thingies :rotfl:

The award criteria is kinda hardcoded, but you definetly should have received something for this.

Seriously, though, something seems to be not working right with the awarding of medals. Others, including myself, are seeing this problem. I've sunk plenty of shipping on numerous patrols, completed all of my objectives, (at 100% difficulty) just to come back to base to...absolutely nothing. Like AntEater, I've even sunk a light cruiser and received no reward in return. All of this I've seen happen since 1.5 was released. Might something in the code have been altered with the add-on?

Funny is, I got silver and bronze stars for my crew each time.
Maybe they realize its not really the idiot on the periscope pretending to command who really makes the difference....

The add-on (which I had little involvement in) changed the award conditions.

The idea being that lots of important medals were being awarded to results that in game terms were not that hard to attain. The new rules are much more demanding. Less realistic, off course, but game results are not realistic either many times.

I think the light cruiser might be one of the ships to fall between the cracks, so to speak, and its not treated separately as a ship to sink.

Elanaiba, I too have been noticing some strange behavior with the medals. I'm referring to the Awards Box within the Captain's Office. The Awards box will display the wrong medal icon when opened. What I've found is that the icon will display as follows:

When the game awards a

Purple Heart it displays a Distinguished Service Medal
Silver Star displays a Silver Star
Medal of Honor displays a Navy Cross
Bronze Star Medal displays a Purple Heart
Distinguished Serv. displays a Bronze Star Medal
Navy Cross displays a Medal of Honor

Please forgive me for changing the names of the medals from the stock game version, but this is occuring with the stock game, no mods added.

As you know, specific image files and Menu_1024_768.ini entries can preform a great deal of changes to the stock awards features for both crew and player/Captain, but the needed changes to the stock Award box icons have been another story for me. Would you know if the needed above correction can be made through a modders capability, or much like the criteria for issued awards, these are hard coded within the game?
