Modern Sim

Hi All, I hope I can get some suggestions here.

I played 688(I) on an older computer several+ years ago. But, when I tried it on my new computer, the graphics were crap and it kept locking up. One thing I have to say is that I did NOT go looking for patches for 688(I). Maybe someone knows about this situation

I like the idea of a cold war subsim. My computer is fairly high end and I don't want to make modifications to run a certain program.

I guess I am asking if there is a subsim out there for me that I might not know about.

OR, has someone run into the 688(I) issue and overcome it.

Thanks,
Del

ICQ is helpful if you think I will need step by step help.

Dangerous Waters. That's what this forum's about!

Read the review for it to see if you want it. It's Cold War (kinda), and if your system's even mid-range it'll play it with nary a hiccup.

Why dont you just buy Dangerous waters? Its basicly a graficly pimped up 688i with lots of other platforms to play with ass well. Allthough the learning curve is quite steep its still a pretty good sim. And if you want you can only stick with the 688i platform (at least thats what i do fot the time being) and then learn the other platforms whenever you feel like it.

Ah I see he found this section.

I pointed him over here.

DW as the others have said is not very demanding on the system. Not exactly state of the art graphics but long on gameplay...

Good luck !

From 688(I) to DW, can be a sort of a shock in gameplay.

Shock ? That's what we sub-fans want right ? :ping:
