Eco-Facist police on the way?

Just wait for these green-jackboots to kick your dorr down for this:

:nope:
I wonder how long it will take for this idea to spread? The next bet will be; how long will it take for the UK to adopt this?:nope: :rotfl:

I'm glad the SF police have nothing better to do, other than inforce trash laws.

I can see it now. The green shirts kick in Steed's door, (after the tear gas) and write Steed a 3000 Pound ticket for not seperating his trash.

Poor Steed, everybody picks on him.

Best way to influence behaviour, put a price on it. Think of it as a tax on waste.

If you don't like it, dispose of the rubbish your self.

True story here! I was in a wreck in SF about 3 years back. The van flipped on its side and caufgt fire. I nor the other driver was injured luckily. Three SF cops drove by on motorcylces and just asked if anyone was injured and then drove off. No report, no nothing... So I call 911 and the operator states that the police no longer take accident reports. The bums did not even offer to call a tow truck. Nor did they help to guide traffic around the wreck. I wrote a letter to the office of Gavin Newesome. Never got a reply. he was too busy I guess figuring out ways to screw up the city of SF even more.:nope:

That's crazy! Good thing you didn't mix your trash or BBQ on a clean air red alert day, then you'd be screwed.:dead:

Do what I do, Burn it and stick to fingers up to the Council. :rotfl:

In your case one finger. ;)

They already do this in the PNW. Up here they, charge you an arm and a leg to throw out trash with it costing what? $33 a garbabe can? But the big huge recycle bin is free! Thats great incentive for me to throw most of my trash into the recycle bin for recycling!

I hope they never try this in Ft.Worth.

If they do, I will just take all my garbage and dump it in the dumpsters outside city and state buildings. Or on the stairs.

Viva la resistance!

Skybird 08-05-08 04:12 AM

No headless throwing away of garbage anymore, omg - the sky is falling!

We have that since over 15 years in Germany. No problem, no problem at all. And yes, local communities send a very small number of employees on street patrols to check, like they check for wrong parkers as well, bikes driven in pedestri9an zones etc. Again, no problem.

don't make this bigger than it is. What realkly worries you is that you are expected to make a minor adjustment to your habits you long since grew fond of. the future holds far bigger callibre of behavior changing on the ready for you and all of us, I promise you.

"Eco-fascism", oh come on, you do not know what facism means, then.

Neighbour of mine used to burn huge amounts of plastic in his garden during the summer. Prevailing wind in my part of the country meant that thick black, cancerous smoke blew straight into my garden/house.
I'm not a violent person, so I suggested to him that if he continued to coat my house with his ****, I might return the favour.

Best line of the entire thread!

And I HIGHLY doubt they will go so far as to inspect each individual can and write tickets for small cases. It is likely more for the jackasses who cant take the few mins to get their garbage sorted...

It is not just about the environment.. The programs are helping the economy greatly and helping local governments reduce the problem of dealing with the massive amounts of garbage..

We do not need the drama... Take care of your trash and just move on...

Why did not not call the police?

Burning plastic releases toxins not only into the environment but into the homes of residents. If you could actually see smoke then you ought to have had the police come out...

Jimbuna 08-05-08 06:36 AM

They no longer take smoke reports

You have a good point there Skybird, the more small changes we make now the fewer big changes we have to make in the future. We already live under many rules similar to this, rules which while we might find a little inconvenient, nonetheless we take in our stride.
