Unavoidable Unintentional Torpedo Fire
HI guys, I'm trying to get back into sh3 and ran into an awfully annoying problem that I am unfamiliar with. When I am in the UZO view or periscope view to look around, I normally would left click to get back control of my mouse. Following? Here's the problem; As soon as I left click to get back control of my mouse, it is automatically centered on the 'Fire' button and launches a torpedo.
I'm using GWX 2.1 with these mods activated: 16km Atmosphere Captain America's Officer Icons Enhanced Damage Effects Black Sea Campaign Files Integrated Orders Open Hatch Mod No Medals on Crew Axis Mediterranean Skins I am using sh3 commander and I am also using the res fix. I was going to mess around and figure it out myself, but it is very late and I have to go to sleep and thought maybe I could save some time and have this answered by the time I wake up. Thanks for any help. |
I wouldn't be too surprised if the resulotion fix somehow screwed up your button/key settings. I'm using almost all of the same mods that you are at present & don't have that mouse button problem.
Wish I could help you... |
Heh I was just about to post that I figured it out. Yea it's the res fix. It seems that it hates that resolution. I set it to 1440x900 and it worked. Too bad. I wanted to play at 1920x1080. Does this have something to do with the ratio? I'm pretty sure at default (800x600 right?) res that when you get back your mouse it's centered on the crosshair. At least, that's how I remember it. At 1440x900 it centers near the wave meter thing. At 1920x1080 it centered on the fire button.:dead:
I'm gonna mess around and see what the max useable res I can get is. |

perhaps try to set the auto_open Torpedo=1 (default) in 0 in the minitweaker's _sim.txt file for your boat. In that way you must open the torpedo tube manually first before the shot, without it it's impossible to shoot. greets |
Interesting, thanks for the tip.

I experienced the same thing when I switched to a 1920x1080 monitor. The change in res moves the mouse pointer. At 1600x1200 it was just about touching the fire button; at 1080p it was dead on.
Somebody really needs to port SH3 to the SH4 engine (I know, that's just crazy talk.) |

Isn't it great? |
