The mishaps associated with nuclear weaponry continue.
A missile transport vehicle carrying an unarmed Minuteman III booster overturned on a gravel road about 70 mi. southwest of Minot AFB, N.D. the morning of July 31.

The 91st Missile Wing vehicles was moving to a launch facility on a gravel access road between the towns of Makoti and Parshall. There were no major injuries, but emergency officials from the local fire department and base emergency officials were called to the scene, says the wing commander, Col. Christopher Ayres. He cited efforts to right the vehicle and minimize environmental and safety risks. The public was asked to avoid the area.

Bah, this had almost nothing to do with nukes. Just the booster of the rocket. Worst case is it rolls on top of you! :)

My first thought as well, then you have to realize the entire world would be reporting a lone nuclear strike on the US within minutes.

UnderseaLcpl 08-02-08 12:15 AM

I didn't think anyone nuked ND. I mean, if there ever was a full-scale nuclear exchange between the U.S. and say, China, ND would be the last place they would target. There's nothing to hit.
Also, I don't know about the Chinese but I would have a hard time refraining from diverting nukes to nearby Minnesota. Don'cha know?
