Very impressive stuff and great job by the pilot. Definately a day for wearing the brown underpants. :yep:
I was just about to ask what EPU means that was referred to in that video then I noticed your second post. Did he drop external fuel tanks just before final turn on approach to the runway? |
Bet they had to clean his seat too...
Dead sticking an FBW jet like the F-16 which is unstable must be a sure fire way if making a mess.... |

By the way, two things that are critical during landing that are attached to the B hydralics are the wheel breaks and nose steering. That is why he is mentioning that it will stop after he is on the runway. He is relying on his speekbrakes and probably keeping the nose up a bit to do the job. Steering can only be accomplished by moving the tail, which is why he is looking like he is not tracking good near the end of the landing.

That's how you earn your flight pay. Good job on that pilot. F-16's aint known for their gliding capability.
Good landing. Hope those tanks did not hit someone. I thought the other guy on the radio was more excited than the pilot was. Any landing that results in a live pilot and an intact aircraft is a great landing  |

any landing you can walk away from is a GOOD landing. To be a great landing the Pilot and the Aircraft have to land at the same time and both need to be in operational condition after landing. :)
