It was available in Europe from the git-go on DVD.

Hell it's for sale on eBay for Christ sake.

I can't understand why it's so difficult to purchase except in a few areas only.

I've been looking for a CD/DVD version of SH4: UBM as well.

I did find this: SH 4: Gold Edition.

Seems that Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition will be available on August 11th. I'll definitely buy this if I can avoid downloading UBM. I recently purchased the DVD version of SH3, since I was getting fed up with the D2D version which I bought when it was released (the key you get never works more than once, and you have to request a new one everytime you re-install the game).

I haven't played SH4 really at all since I got it and haven't played SH3 since GWX 1.03. I can't wait to start playing them again, especially with GWX 2.1 and the latest mods for SH4 :).

I wonder if Ubi will release another expansion for Japanese submarines?

Yes it's available on many websites. Direct2Drive wouldn't let me download it, Steam said I had to re-purchase their version of SH4 itself, plus load all their proprietary stuff onto my computer. I found a copy on Ebay, but it was in Bankok and the shipping was horrendous.

I pre-ordered Gold back when it was announced, so got the discount $20 price, and it ships in less than two weeks now. I can live with that.

Not like I have much choice.
