Extra points from Academy
 

Is it true that if you do well in 'Academy' you will have higher 'Renown' when you start a new 'Career'? :-?

In stock SH3 if you don't go through the academy you start a carrer with 500 renown, If you go through it you get 1000 renown extra (I think).
If you get more renown if you do well (every test rank at excellent), I don't know

And in GWX 2.1 I wanted to ask the same question and if you get any renown at all if you go through the academy.

So far as I know, in GWX 2.1 you only have to complete one academy class to get an extra 1000 renown points. Pass the navigation exam as it is the easiest for quick moolah!:up: Having said that, it is a good idea to try to pass all the exams so you stand half a chance of success during your career.

That means that you get 1000 renown, no matter if complete on or all tests right?

Damn good thing - I'm new to the entire SH3 + GWX 2.1 + SH3 Commander thing - in vanilla SH3 I am used to maxing the Academy - they don't shoot back until the final exam when you attack the convoy. I just tried it out for the first time, and I was sunk by the aircraft in the Anti-Air exam! Ouch!

Naturally if I was on patrol I'd have dived away from them, not tried to shoot it out with that many bombers AND fighters!
