New loading screens for an IJN Campaign
While roaming the the I came across paintings of japanese I boats published on www.SubArt.net .
John Meeks painted the following canvasses : Tagami San This would be the main intro screen, the I boat I modelled is the I 25 shown in this /John Meeks /painting. Coastwatcher /John Meeks /The One and Only... /John Meeks /Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? /John Meeks /Evergreen /John Meeks /Sen Toku /John Meeks Michel Guyot painted the following canvass : http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/4...elguyotjb5.jpg http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/4...218eefcba8.jpg /Japanese Submarine I53 /Michel Guyot I wrote an email to Helen Burbridge, their agent, asking if we could use an image of their paintings in our SH4 game. She kindly contacted them and obtained their agreeement, so all the images you'll soon see in a revised version of my Jyunsen B, Kaidai and Kaichu mod will be with agreement of their authors. I can't thank John Meeks and Michel Guyot enough as it will help us get immerged in an IJN campaign. Keltos |

Beautiful idea...and execution!

This is really beginning to sound interesting. I wouldn't have even considered a IJN campaign, but your work makes it sound strangely enticing. Look forward to it all. Lovely ideas, stunning execution. Thanks.

thanks to all of you for your support :) :)
I listed the paintings I asked a picture of so that you could have a sneak peek at the coming IJN mission screens, they are on www.SubArt.net, Helen Burbridge, their agent was kind enough to accept my demands and to contact both artists, who agreed to lend images for our game. Their signatures will be visible on the screens and they will be thanked along with Helen in the credits file. As I said somwhere this is a cooperative work, Keltos |

IJN I 8 "Devil submarine"
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/2...sterwebxs5.jpg John Meeks quote :"Well, here she is .... my "Devil-Boat"! I call her that, because I have very mixed feelings about this I-Boat. Her history is not totally admirable, and at one point I was quite reluctant to even depict her in a painting. However, after much soul searching, I decided that the problem wasn't with the boat - merely with some of the officers and men that had served on her. In fact, I-8 achieved fame and infamy for two quite separate and different exploits.(Not to mention that unique and damned ugly twin 5.2"gun!)" end quote http://www.skybirdart.com/ |
