OK Guys post your comments on any new films you seen to give the rest of us some idea what we're in for.

I got my eye on the following: Day the Earth Stood Still, X-Files I want to believe, Star Trek pre-sequel.

From what I can make out X-Files 2 is set for August here and until then if you seen any new film, what did you think of it?

Most movies I've seen recently have had their own threads started by people who wanted to talk about them. I've commented on those, so I really don't have anything new to contribute.

Only two new movies that I will have to see in the future:

The Dark Knight (not the one that'll bite your legs off, that's the Black Knight)

Wall-E (I'm REALLY looking forward for this one.)

I want to see Hancock anyone seen it. Will Smith plays a superhero (comedy) Just came out here, if its good i'll go see it otherwise will wait for it to come out on dvd

Hancock was great. Very funny. Will Smioth has really become a really great actor to watch. I'll see anything with him in it.

I'm waiting for The Dark Knight and currently have my eye on The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

Don't know if anyone heard about this or not, but next year there is a planned remake of All Quiet on the Western Front set to be done entirely in 3D.

I just Got back from "WALL-E"

a cute movie that I will give :up::up:

nice as a family adventure or a romantic comedy Pixar as usual
does not dissappoint including a cute featurette before the film
wich has become there hallmark.

an enjoyable light film comedy adventure and romance.

Those folks at PIXAR ar something else. Everything they touch turns to gold....

Just saw Hancock. Very well written would not recomend it to anyone with kids under 12, just the language aspect and not for the very little violence depicted. It threw me for a loop, which is why I liked it.

Wall-E was a cute childrens flick, but my 4 yo likes to act like a robot now. Did this after Wizard of Oz 4 months ago, I guess I'll have to get another case of wd-40....

Currently nothing announced for the movies that I would be interested in.

Since we have almost none of the old-fahsioned classical "Lichtspielhäuser" left anyway, I do not consider to be a loss. I hate these giant glass-and-chrome multi-event mega-Cineplex-factories that have replaced them. even in berlin most of the best and well-known movie palaces of classical design has been shut down, even destroyed, being replaced by Cineplex-multi-cinemas. It's a shame. Okay, the younger ones do not know it any different. But they do not know what they are missing.

I really miss these old-fashione dplaces. when still living in Berin, I used to go to the movies once or twice a week - even if the films thy shown were not so special to me. I just loved the feeling and atmosphere of the event, and the way to spend the afternoon that way. "Rollo Mint" was integral part of every visit. But even these peppermint-bitter-chocolate-toffees have gone. :arrgh!:

What ever became of that Red Baron movie?

Meh, going to the cinema is generally a thoroughly underwhelming experience for me; uncomfortable seats, no ability to pause the film for a cup of tea, let me say it once and for all - too many damn adverts! The film is listed as starting at 8pm and 40 minutes later the film actually starts :damn: Not to mention the guy using his mobile phone in the next aisle.

The last few films I rented that were pretty good are:

Children of men - I wasn't all that bothered at first, but it was moving along nicely and I was enjoying the dvd when it got to where things start to get serious when the player got stuck on a scratch. So, I never saw the end of the film, though I'm told it ends badly for all concerned.

Rescue Dawn - Good vietnam pow movie. Well produced and performed without many of the cliche's commonly associated with vietnam war films.

3:10 to Yuma - One of the few modern westerns that was any good. It has its cheesy moments but these are not entirely out of place and as such work rather well. Two very strong characters and a passing nobility for the men as a paragon of knightly honour and grudging respect. It's a good western with plenty of the right stuff.

Last film I went to the cimema to see:

Iron Man - As expected it was a lighthearted action flick packed with villainous bad guys and polished special effects. Would have been better to see it at home though.
