RAdio for help.

I am just wondering.Last night i went on patrol, off the coast of Ireland a C2 Freighter was spotted.SO i thought i would practise my Gunnery. It sank,i then noticed another vessel astern of me on a reciprocal course,so i about faced and voller fahrt voraus! It was a Brit Coastal Freighter, once again sunk with Gunnery.Resumed the patrol and in moments a Flower Class Corvette was spotted,i attacked and sank it with 1 fish at PD.My question is this, does the AI call up on the RAdio for assistance and note the surface attack on it?

Yes.

Short answer.... yes.

Long answer... enemy units (ships and aircraft) within "X" amount of distance of the attacked unit will respond based on a percent chance that they received the message. (or something like that)

Ahh that explains the pair of air attacks then.

Slightly differnt but is there a way to get the depth displayed on the chart a la SH2 ?i have scratched the bottom of my U boat and Ober Seeman Rembrandt in Lorient will be fuming at the loss of paint!

LOL you're a top man GR.

1. have the nav officer report depth under keel... it is one of his icons. he will tell you how much more distance you have to the bottom

2. the pencil tool if using GWX has a color coded pointer which tells you approximate depth.

EDIT:

i like crutches slightly more than getting kicked in the face with a golf shoe. which isnt much at all really.

The chart in SH3 has different colors for depth but they're not very accurate I'm afraid, the only way to be sure is to ping, and to not crashdive when it's very light blue on the chart, or you'll make a very distressing BOINGGGG! noise:know:

although sometimes your 1WO will warn you if you try to crashdive in real shallow water, say 20 meters or less
