Default Torpedo Settings

Hi,

When loading a saved game, I've noticed that the torpedo settings (depth, speed, detonation type) will reset to the "factory defaults" of slow, 10' and conact. It takes a while to set each torpedo. If I'm entering the loading game at a point where I may need to do a snapshot, there's no hope.

Does anyone know a method of redefining the default torpedo settings, so that, even upon leaving port, the settings are the way I want them?

Thanks!

Any one have an answer to this as I have the similar problem.

Is there a way I can modify a config file where the default torpedo setting can be change to fast contact and a more shallower depth?

I'll put my 2 cents worth in here and say I would like to see that as well.

Default launching depth can be changed but not the default speed. BTW, 10 feet was the "default" launching depth during the war, according to the Fleet Sub Manual.

Uhhh ... dont save in those situations?

Resolve the conflict if possible.

Also, in 1.5, if you lock the target your torpedo depth will automatically be set to 3 ft above keel depth. So if you do that you are good to go. Interestingly, when using that game setting I've never had a torpedo go under a target without exploding, even in bad seas. Don't know for sure about shallow draft escorts though--guess I need to try that.

I am playing 1.5 + RFB and I need to set the depth to 5 feet just to get the deep running MK 14s to hit near the keel....not that they will actually explode when they do hit :x
