Laptop Compatibility (Dell D610) ?
 

I know that "laptops are not supported" but I'm considering purchasing and wondered if anyone here has success/failure with SH3 on a Dell D610 Laptop with 128MB Intel 915GM vid card. I have 2 Ghz Pentium M with 1GB of RAM. I guess its worth a try but just wondered of others experiences here. Thx.

I've been using a laptop for a while due to my desktop being moved. SH3 works fine with these stats:
Intel Core Duo @ 1.66GHz 1.67GHz
2 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600

Your processor should be fine, you may find that you struggle with 1GB RAM (mine stutters a little at higher framerates) and unfortunately I can't comment on your video card.

Hopefully someone more technically minded will show up soon...

I use a N610 at work.

I would not recommend trying for a serious game of SH3 on one. Unless you have added a whole lot of memory and bigger than 40G hard drive...

The screen rate stinks as well...

I haven't got any issues trying out gwx 2.1 on my pentium M 1.5 laptop once, 2 GB ram (DDR1) and a radeon mobile 9700 vid with 64 MB. However the card is surely the bottleneck, you get framerates of 35+ and about 20+ when you hit more than 1 ship at once :arrgh!: . NYGM or WAC lite supermods should be more laptop- friendly though. I don't know anything about your vid card (dedicated ram?), but the laptop itself handles the game fairly easy.
