Welcome to Subsim,
It is not possible to advise destroyers to follow the layer unit.:-? You got so stay alone. But why do you need an escort?:o Are there fleet boats attacking you? |

Like Xan said "AI" ships cannot be bound to a player ship...ex..when creating a mission w/ the mission editor you cannot be part of a group.
If all else fails Yamato you could always run away at flank speed and live to fight another day...I've had to do it myself when i came across an Iowa that put quite a pounding on me. |
Welcome to subsim.
In SHIII when I was sailing Uberboot under British Colours I would make a mission with a Battleship and cruiser Squadron and map out there path through the coming battle and I would just position keep as one of the escorts going through the battle in formation. similarly you could add yourself to the battleline of a Formation youve made for the desired effect. the escorts for the formation will act as normal. your just part of the squadron is all. you cant connect a player unit to a formation in mission editor unfortunately so thats the only way. it does however have the effect desired and isnt difficult. M [edit] other hot tips shorten the engagement range of the guns of all ships to keep it in visual range. |
