GWX installation issues

Hi all, hate to make my first post one with trouble but alas it is what it is

I am trying to install the GWX 2.0 mod, however when I run the install I get an endless series of error messages while installing relating to game files that supposedly are "corrupted".

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilenthunterIII\data\Air\ADB_JU87Stu ka\ADB_JU87Stuka.cfg

An error occurred while trying to read the source file:
The source file is corrupted.

When I click the not recommended Ignore button I get an endless sequence of similar error messages. First of the Stuka fiels, then of more airplanes.

I apparently have the required 1.4 version of SH3 since that's what it says in the menu screen in-game. I bought the game last summer (2007) and did not need to download the update since it came as v1.4 in the box.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance!

@ Takamaru

Welcome to Subsim.

It sounds to me as if you have a corrupted download on one of the GWX 2.0 *.bin files.

If you visit the FAQ section of the GWX webpage, it will provide you a way to check the integrity of your downloaded files using MD5 hash codes and MD5 Mate, aswell as instructions.

Let us know how it goes.

Don't give up on GWX yet!

I just went through this recently. I was advised to download a fresh copy of GWX2.0 and reinstall everything from the start once again. Apparently on such a large download, files can get inadvertently corrupted during the transfer. You should have the .exe file, 6 .bin loads of about 200KB's each and one about 15KB. In any event, I took the advice and it worked. Take some time...GWX is worth it.

For a time being...until some folks won't begin to make 100 GB mods. :rotfl:

If all else fails I'd suggest getting it through GameShadow, it's free and gives you a single .exe that does all the work for you.
