Dagon's USSR submarines mod

back in the days, Dagon obviously made two types of russian submarines for SHIII.

Does anyone know where to find them ? or if you have if, can you post it for download, I'd like a go at transfering it to SHIV.

As far as I understood, Dagon is doing such a conversion to SH4 himself. BTW, authors of most of SH3 subs are in the process of transferring their subs to SH4 or planning to do that. Therefore, it might be a good idea to ask for their approval before starting the conversion work.

I tried to get to contact Dagon from the russian forum but couldn't.

I just thought it would be nice to add the russian part of the pacific war that's all.

If he does it, fine by me, if not, and maybe only for my private use (no posting then) I'd like to import one to SH4. btw when I used parts or mods made by someone else I always include that in the credits file and in the description on FF.

the posts on the russian forum date back to march 2007... anything since ?

I guess you are looking at SH3 threads. Such things are discussed in SH4 threads and not only on forums at www.sukhoi.ru.

keltos01 07-03-08 06:09 AM

I do know that.

I wrote to Denis_469, a friend of Dagon's, he told me that I could download the files on his FF page, and that I just have to call the mod Dagon XXX when tranfered to SH4: "In name write Dagon submarine....[/quote]" which is only fair since the hardest part is the model.

I am still waiting for confirmation that I really may, then we'll see about those russian subs.

I see you really have fun with converting subs:yep:

keltos01 07-03-08 06:26 AM

maybe even more than playing :o

I think, since it was a World War, why miss out on some maybe great stuff ??

People mod what they're interrested in, I just do love subs ! but always the same ones get modded ever since the first "Gato" game back in the days ;)

A little diversity now and then is a healthy thing, don't you think ?
(copied from Sean in the Hunt for Red October)

Did you hear about those russian subs who sailed the seven seas to go from the east coast of the USSR through the Panama canal, up to Poliarnyi ?

keltos01 07-03-08 06:45 AM

Dagon's work is impressive, here is ther tower of the K type russian submarine :

The body of the sub is still a typ IX?

Xantrokoles 07-03-08 07:10 AM

IMO it is a reworked IX body.

I'm awed, not only did he use the type of a german sub but he completely changed the 3d, less so for the D type, but the L type I like (you're gonna say I like ugly subs ;) )

I guess I'll start with that one when I get to go ahead :) that is if anyone is interrested in playing one : just read that they didn't fight the japs untill 1945... :(

misfitdreamer 07-03-08 10:01 AM

american, german, japanese, british... and now soviet submarines.

hell f--king yes : )

i'd be happy to help somehow if people were interested in developing a russian campaign in the light of RSRD and OM
(the japanese and british submarines need that too ! )

denis_469 07-03-08 11:22 AM

I near talk with Dagon in phone and him said that Dagon agree for converting made soviet submarines from SH III. Him said me that I write about in forum as it need for it forum.

keltos01 07-03-08 02:30 PM

the master himself will transfer the subs !

Denis this is wonderful news indeed !:up::up:
who better than the master himself can transfer those subs ?
They truly are wonderful !

ps I had a trouble with a couple of them : couldn't export the sch tower and the S type either, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore as Dagon himself is working on this :D

I hope you will use this thread here to post on how it's going, and post the download links when they are ready, I know from reading the whole thread from Sukhoi.ru posted here above that Dagon only posts completely working perfect subs.

I had a little trouble reading some posts as it was a google translation, but all in all very interresting, meaning you'll see me sometimes on Sukhoi.ru !

Thanks again Denis and Dagon,

Keltos
