Mission Orders question

Greetings all!

I just re-started a new career after getting my new computer I am playing with GWX 2.1 with the following mods active:

16Km Atmosphere
Axis Mediterranean Aircraft Skins
English Nav Map and Grid Refs
Enhanced Damage Effects
Open Hatch Mod
All GWX

and

WB News Networkv1.0
WaterStream for uboats v4
Green Atlantic 8k

I list those because I'm not sure it makes a difference or not

Anyway, I am based out of Wilhelmshaven in a Type VIIB boat and my mission orders are to patrol Grid BF10 for 24 hours.

So I go to my nav map to determine the best route to my designated patrol area and it doesn't seem to exist.

What do I do now?? Obviously I can't patrol the area, do I return to port and gain no renown?

Just go out and sail around for a bit? Sink whatever the hell I can find and screw the consiquences?

Maybe start WWII a tad "early" just because I know that it's going to happen anyway?? Ahh the wonderful result of history and hindsight... :rotfl:

Thanks for the help everyone!

Just sail out and sink some ships. ;)

Better still get the great Silent Hunter 3 Commander and you can input your own grids to patrol.

Forget the renown.....you no longer get any for patrol grids in GWX2.1...only for what you destroy/sink. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

Thanks guys!

I feel kinda stupid for asking such a question, but hey, if you don't know, with all the experienced captains here, I'm quite sure that SOMEONE would have an answer.

I didn't know that renown for patrol area's was no longer something you get credit for in GWX 2.1, so now I'm really glad I asked.

I forgot to mention earlier that I am using SH3 commander, but I didn't know to change the patrol grid prior to starting my patrol. Now I do.

  • create ure new carrier with sh3com
  • launch the game with it
  • go on patrol
  • still in the harbor or at the startpoint outside port save and leave the current carrier
  • load same carrier again
  • delete the just saved game in the menu (its the 2nd in the list)
  • exit sh3
  • change grid in sh3com
  • relaunch the carrier with a now modified patrol grid with the autosaved game still in port
P.S. I remember about 2 weeks ago disregarding the patrol i got -374 renown in the first patrol from Königsberg. Cant tell if this is a one time event. Since then i manually set a close grid by sh3com and go from there to anywhere i like to engage the enemy.

I always proceed to the grid ordered. After that it's my own discretion where I go. I spend a lot of time trying to outhink the GWX crew who made this game so much more intresting.
