Gramophone issues
I ripped some of my favourite early dizzy gillespie songs to my computer using windows media player and sent them to my sh4 gramophone folder. Tried to play them in the game on the gramophone and they wouldn't work unfortunately. I then realized they were ripped onto my computer in .wma format not mp3. Tried to convert the dizzy songs by putting a .mp3 on the end of the file name but it warned me they may become unusable tried it anyway and they woudn't play at all on the computer or of course in the game. I use "the core media player" mostly on my computer if that helps
My guess is the soultion to this problem is in tinkering with some of the options in The Core Media player or maybe i might need another ripping program other than windows media player. Like i say these are just my best guesses to solving the problem, and i seem to have exhausted all the options within my limited computer experience. Seem to remember having the same problem with sh3 gramophone files but i cant think what i did to fix that problem. Will think on what to do in the meantime... |
I'm really new to SH4 so I don't know what format the sound files need to be, but I have ripped songs from CD using Windows Media Player into mp3 format. You should check the settings before ripping and make sure Media Player is set to rip to mp3. Good Luck

I think the only formats that the gramophone supports are .mp3, .wav & configured OGG filles.< like the speech files.
Here is a link for you: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=132616 It's a mod that contains music from Das Boot, nive songs :p Just activate it with JSGME and make sure it's in the mod file. I think you may need other songs as well, i don't think that .wma file is supported. Cheers |
First of all, just changing .wma to .mp3 doesn't work. They're still in WMA format. If your program won't save or convert them to mp3 or OGG, then save/convert them as .wav. They'll take up more hard drive space that way, but they'll play at least.

Converts to most formats. I recommend .ogg over mp3 - don't know about SH4, but SH3's gramaphone likes that format better. |
