Where is the Luftwaffe?

January, 1941, leaving out of Lorient heading towards Grid DT-83. Leaving Lorient, passing through Grid BF-44(?), I run into a large convoy from Gibraltar. I make a contact report as this convoy has a Clemson DD, a V&W DD, and two Flower corvetts.

I am detected, dive, and here comes the Clemson, and both flower corvetts.

So where is my air cover? Surely this isn't too far for the Luftwaffe. Just off the coast of Spain.

God Bless

Till all are one.

Spain is Neutral

That's just the problem!

You're just off the coast of Spain. Spain is neutral during the war!

Darn those International Laws!:damn:

That means no Germans in Spain, or there would be some literature of Spanish troops overwhelming the Allied garrison at Gibraltar and the Axis controlling the strait!

You're on your own, Herr Kaleun!:lurk:

Well, I loaded the milkcow Mod and less than 100 kms is a "friendly" port.

And its not just there, that has happened to me in Grid AN-41 not far from Wilhamshaven.

And in Grid BF- near Bristol.

And in the straits between France and Brittian.

I have just never had any luck using the "Send Contact Report" function.

Debating on whether or not to even bother.

Anywho, thanks.

God Nless

Till all are one.

To get some cover from Luftwaffe, a german airfield has to be near.
The "friendly port" is no german installation, but an interned german ship providing fuel and rearm. No aircrafts involved!

Sending a contact report is no "order" to get the Luftwaffe engaged. Aircrafts have to be available and in range. They may help you out - or not.
(There is a certain probability coded to make them appear)

Good luck, Herr Kaleun!

Like said there has to be an axis airfield within range, I doubt in real life they were`nt too interested in a single sub, unless it was carring something very vital. They are good at stealing your thunder on a convoy, and let you deal with the escorts. Puts:D
