Yes Sir Yes Sir Yes Sir

I've just installed SH4 (1.5) on my new, super-hot Dell XPS laptop. My only mods are RFB and RSRDC.

I've noticed, when on the bridge and I press CTRL-V for a report on visual contacts, my crew response (both audio and on-screen) is:

"Yes Sir! Yes Sir! Yes Sir!" as if I had pressed CRTL-V three times.

Never encounterd this on my older (slower) machine.

Any thoughts on what to do about this?

Hi Bill, I had a similar issue where the sonar tech would constantly repeat "Passing thermal layer". I simply re-installed the game and ran all mods as administartor and it went away. let us know how the dell works out, i have an HP 9815 it handles SH3 perfectly but not SH4, I may try the Dell if it pans out.

The "passing thermal layer" issue is stock and usually happens if you save near your port. It does go way.

The 1.5 patch introduced the 'yes sir' three times. Also a stock issue. Sometimes it acts correctly and other times it repeats three times.

Ah! Thanks. Looks like 1.5 may have introduced more bugs than it fixed...

This is the only issue I have found thus far with 1.5. Seems to get caught in a loop sometimes. The biggest bug really is the crew men should be saying 'aye':D

This must be a variation on the "Yes sir, Yes sir, three bags full" I often heard while in the service.

I got that, all I did was close the game and reopen it. Another way is, when you save and close, do two saves about 1 minute apart; then, if one save hits the thermals, use the other.

"Yes sir yes sir yes sir"

"Rudder, Rudder"

That, and the crew constantly whispering even when not at silent running, are three of the most idiotic bugs this game still has.

Red Devil 06-07-08 04:58 AM

Dont forget, you get "rudder" for every depression of the keyboard button; same as for hard a port, starboard etc etc.

The most hilarious thing must be ,when in silent running, you get the alarm screaming extremely loudly when diving or climbing at a certain depth.
