Opinions on SH IV
 

I really got into SHIII and was wondering how SH IV compares to it. Besides the upgraded graphics, the use of US subs, and the Pacific Theater of operation, how do the two compare?

Well, SH4 has improved graphics and American fleet boats operating in the Pacific.

Plus better crew management and subdivided campaigns for better loading times. And now it has U-boats as well.

All the modders who haven't moved there are starting to, including the GWX team. Once SH4 has the entire U-boat campaign plus its current Pacific campaign there will be no going back.:sunny:

I play both and I enjoy both. They are different, so don't expect a USN version of SHIII. Radar that really works is one big difference. Also, especially early in SHIV (1942) there is a lot of potential for shallow water work (eg. S. China Sea, Dutch East Indies, Sulu Sea).

If you try it out (and you should), my favorite way to start the war is in a Sargo-class boat out of Manila :up:
