bad weather and floodings
Hi I live in a very small town (containing 5 streets, a church, Pub and a postal office) the North East part of Belgium and yesterday morning I was going to the Gym.
But there was a thunderstorm and heavy rain fall that morning which started during the night. So I couldn't get out of the town. Every exit road was flooded by mudstreams. There was over 50 cm per cm2. In 2 hours there was more rain that normally would fall in a month. Sewers couldn't handel it and streets and basements were flooded. My neighbours had much damage, but we only had minor water on ours. (very lucky) I did return to my home to get my camera, but by the time I got back the Fire fighers and Army were blocking the road. So I just went home and helped my neighbour with sandbags. When the rain was over there was 20 cm of mud on the streets. here are some pics that i took from the News site: http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/223...345x243le2.jpg http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/160...345x243ep0.jpg http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/1...lastinltk1.jpg http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/512...lastinlzn0.jpg Now I'm off to a second try to reach the Gym....cheers |
 Wow, that's alot of mud to clean up.
Hope you all are ok... Nice shots, btw; |
That's awful, all that mud and muck to clean up plus I'm sure the sewers back-up after being overloaded
However I have to say I really like the picture of the super cell, one of the best I've seen. |
