One is a WW II simulation, the other one is a tactical modern asw warfare (its not just sub vs sub). If you want more information come in the Dangerous Waters subforum. :D

It is easier to answer by saying what the similarities are:

They are both submarine simulations.

The similarities end there.

Actually, DW is an ASW simulator while SH4 is a submarine ASuW simulator

So, The similarities end in: "They both let you drive submarines, at some point"

hmmm, the "submarines" in SH4 are just "boats that can dive" really. Not true subs
like those in DW. :hmm:

in my experience SH4 is better;i could never understand dangerous water
dangerous waters is so confusing.

Ultimatly both games are substantially different, you can't say any one of them is better then the other

So true.

Yea, basically... any attempt to find similarity between them is superficial. They're about things in the ocean that sink and explode.

There's probably more of a comparision between Falcon 4.0 and Dangerous Waters, or SHIV vs. IL-2 than there is between SHIV and DW.

At some point in time I would like to try DW or get back to Sub Command and give it a little more time.
Big learning curve with both, but a natural progression I think after playing the Silent Hunter Series.

I played Subcommand last night after a year's break. It was fun but I just wished it had more realism and better graphics

bradclark1 05-21-08 08:16 PM

There is no comparison between the games. Get both.
