Doping
the swedish Karolinska institute has published medical data that are quoted as being evidence that doping tests that are reliable to identify European and many African athletes who used doping substances and anabolica - do not work with the physiology of almost all Asian people. Reason is that the organism of Asians produce a smaller diversity of enzyms, this results in Europeans being able to drink three times as much alcohol than Asians before they get as drunk, or Asian's physiology not being capable to digest miolk and milk-products as well as europeans (in fact some Asians can get almost sick), and now - doping control methods are also completely bypassed by the difefrences in Asian physiology. the German essay I read said this difference are substantial enough to make them an all open giant hole in the net of doping controls.
Hard die the Olympics. Another reason for me to demand to skip doping controls and to open doping as a perfectly legal method to all athletes being stupid enough to wish to use it. at least all chances would be equal again, then: right now they aren't, and not just since this study regarding comparison between Europeans and Asians. the audience then also can choose wether to accept it and watch the sporting events nevertheless, or walk away. just this self-deceiving talking about doping control and clean sports has to end. sport is not clean, and never will be again. so: let'S equalize the chances at least: make doping legal for all! responsibility for the athlete'S health and life should be put to where it belongs: the athlete. they should also be forced to invest in obliogatory special health insurrances. It cannot be understood why society should pay for their treatment 15 years later when they have crippled there health with too many injections. |
I don't know how into American baseball you are, but I was watching the Twins play the Red Sox last night and the announcers made a couple of key statistical points(baseball ain't nothing but stats on everything). The key stats they were talking about were these:
1. The home run pace in the major leagues is down by almost 1,000 home runs from three years ago. 2. Average fastball radar speeds are down by 5-8 mph across the leagues from three years ago. What baseball is seeing is the return to a statistical normal base throughout the leagues with the final banning and enforcement of steroid use. The other point they made on why the falloff has been so dramatic is due to the Congressional hearings on steroid abuse and the fact that none of the current players wants to be hauled before Congress. What this tells me is that all the records set during the steroid years are invalid and not a true indicator of performance in the Major Leagues. |
Neal was going to introduce random doping at subsim...until all the Moderators failed the test! :D
