SH III Version Upgrades
 

I bought SH 3 years ago and have had to transfer it to a new computer. My problem is that when I try to upgrade to version 1.1 to 1.4 to install GWX 2.0, I get a notice that says I have an "unknown version". This is a legit version and worked fine on my old PC. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Try uninstalling from disk. Then reinstal making sure you've got the correct download of 1.4 for your area.

Someone more knowledgeable, I'm sure, will appear soon.

Yes, make sure your not trying to use the European update on a USA release or
vise versa.

Post details about your disk and the update your useing and I'm sure it will be sorted.

After you have uninstalled Silent Hunter III you need to delete the SilentHunterIII folder from the drive you installed to, it will be in a folder called Ubisoft - don't delete the Ubisoft folder if you have other games by them installed. Also, you need to delete any SH3 related folders from My Documents then you can do a clean install of Silent Hunter III and patch to 1.4b.
