Questions about OLC UBER
 

I am using olcgui 1.2.3.

I downloaded olcuber. Do I need to disable olcgui, or do I need to have the olcgui enabled with the uber? It never really says.

It's explained in the readme:

Thanks, but this wasn't my question. This only eplains what's in the OLC uber mod. What about OLCGUI1.2.3? THis is separate from OLCUber. Question is do I need to enable both OLCGUI1.2.3 and the parts of OLCUBER? Or does OLCUBER contain 1.2.3GUI?

I thought that explanation was very clear. It says that OLC Uber contains both OLC-GUI and OLC environment.

I am using OLCE2 with GUI 123 and OLCE2 map update mod (OLCE2 part 3) because I prefer to have the periscope zoom option of GUI 123 even if that means that I have to put up with the smooth waves in the periscope/UZO view. The sub folder that should be added to SH3 Commander from OLC's mods is the same in all variants of his update.

I use the German language option of SH3; that means that I have to write over the de menu GUI 123 using the de menu of OLCE2, otherwise you have problems with Memel and Königsberg.

Alles klar?

You can run OLCE2 with OLC GUI Special

OR

You can run OLCE2 with OLC GUI 1.2.4

OR

You can run OLCE2 on its own


...didn't read the readme. Part 3 of the Ubermod will not do anything when used with OLC GUI 1.2.3.

This kind of confusion (see the similar questions in the Ubermod thread)is why the first release of the Ubermod didn't have any "parts". I knew I should have stuck to my guns on that. :damn:

Just forgot that I changed back to GUI 1.2.3. the other day because of my zoomable periscope preference.

I was wondering where the red warship sonar lines had gone!

Technically, it never really says what to do with 1.2.3 GUI, which is a separate download. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are 2 GUI's, GUI 1.2.3 and GUI Special (included with uber).

So play out this scenerio, I have GUI 1.2.3 installed and active. I decide to give the OLC uber a try.

Ok, so do I disable GUI 1.2.3 before enabling the GUI Special? Or do I keep GUI 1.2.3 enabled and also enable GUI special? Basically, does GUI special include the contents of GUI 1.2.3, meaning is it standalone? From reading above, the answer is yes, GUI special is standalone and you don't need GUI 1.2.3. So I disable 1.2.3 and go special.
