GWX 1.2 1939 is this really that easy..?

Not sure but maybe there's something wrong with my install. Everything is running ok but i'm in 1939 and I can sink anything that goes by with out a problem. Destroyers go right by me and gun boats just run around me and speed off....strange, nobody will attack. If I fire a shot at them they do then attack but be for that it's like we are not at war. Is there something wrong with my install..? thanks for any info.

Maybe you're not? :hmm: What's the patrol date?

Sailor Steve 05-10-08 12:15 AM

GWX 2.1 lets you start in August 1939 if you want to. The war doesn't start until September.:yep:

Tok 05-10-08 12:25 AM

Heeee...:-)

The date is 1939, Aug 2, so I'm sinking boats before the war starts I guess, thank you for the info.

Sailor Steve 05-10-08 12:37 AM

:yep:

You'll get radio messages telling you to attack Polish traffic on September 1, and British and French on September 3. Until GWX 2.1 the start date was always September 1. The August start date mainly lets you be one of the boats that was sent out to be on station when the war began, so you don't have to cross the Evil Channel during wartime.:sunny:

Oh, and in case I missed you before, WELCOME ABOARD!

OOH! Tok,

The Fuhrer wanted to avoid war with Britain. I'm sure he'll invite you for coffee soon. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Do you actually realise how many millions of lives the consequences of your actions are responsible for http://imgcash2.imageshack.us/img134/9742/angry8se2.gif

I'm sure our benign Fuhrer will forgive you. But I'm not so sure about Jimbuna's reaction to stealing his hero's portrait

Not so sure about the Royal Navy not starting any bother before that nice Mr. Chamberlain announced on Sunday, September 3rd 1939 that since 11 o'clock that morning a state of war had existed between the United Kingdom and Germany. Recently I had got out on patrol into the Chops of the Channel on that fateful Sunday morning and had spotted an R.N. armed auxiliary cruiser at about 7 a.m., which vessel I was dogging until the kick-off at 11 o'clock when I planned to slot a couple of eels into her.

So there I was, waiting for the whistle to blow, when suddenly I was lit up by the cruiser's searchlights and got stonked good and proper. That was at about 8 a.m., September 3rd 1939. And as I and my doughty crew plummeted to Davy Jones's locker, I yelled out: "Fight fair, Englische Schweinehünde!"

Ask any Scottsman about Perfidous Albion.

(Did you watch the parade yesterday?)

Well, that's a game limitation. The war starts in SH3 at 12am on 3 September 1939. There's no hour precision.

But I can beat that. There I was, minding my own business quietly watching a convoy pass on 2 September 1939 when BLAM! an Escort came out of nowhere and sunk me. I didn't even *make* it to WWII. :-? And my God that Escort was good. He had super powers considering the date.

I dunno why this occurred, but I decided at that point that from then on I would lay low from 1 September 1939 just in case...

Hi!

The escort wasn't flying a Polish flag by any chance, was it?

Pablo
