missing naval academy - CTD
 

I've been having problems recently with CTD just as SHIII finishes loading and just about to start patrol.

I think I've sorted them now - was getting it in GW2 and NYGM.

The curious thing I did notice was that when SHIII presents the screen of choices: Academy, Career, Mission etc. if the choice of Naval Academy was missing from the list- invariably SHIII would crash as it finished loading the patrol. If the Academy choice was shown (correctly) it would load correctly.

As an added confusion, if I loaded SHIII direct, skipping SH3Comm it may load, even if using SH3Comm to load SHIII did give a CTD!

I hope my comments are understandable - I'm nearly confusing myself as it is.

I'm not asking for assistance, I was just wondering if anybody else has the 'disappearing Academy' when getting CTDs?


Since this, I've dropped NYGM and taken another copy of GW2.1 to use S-boote in it. Weirdly I started SH3Commander and kicked off SHIII - GW2.1. When I reached the main menu the option for academy was missing! Assuming it would crash, I started a new career, expecting a CTD as the patrol started. But no! It ran perfectly and I have run 3 patrols - all with no problems ( apart from the fact that the option for academy is totally missing - weird!
