[REQ] GUPPY mod
|
I would also like it if someone could model the GUPPY sail even if it only had cosmetic effects :D.
But personally I would prefer this guppy model http://www.dutchsubmarines.com/pictu...eeleeuw1_2.jpg |
It will be useful in the cold war mod... Regarding which GUPPY series, i'd say all of them. From the first to the third. Since the fleet boats remained nearly unchanged in their structure and overall performance, we could add theese upgrades like new conning towers.
Or we could use new, updated, subs as new vessels with slightly improved performances (like submerged speed/endurance). I hope someone will make it. |
I didn't know, a sub class was named guppy, so for a second, this came into my mind:

GUPPY is, in fact, a nickname for G.U.P.P.P...it was a program of general improvement of older fleet boats (gatos and balaos and also tenches) to make the compliant with the newest submarine tecnologies developed during and shortly after WWII.

Who knows edit in 3d:D ?

Great Pics, by the way. Respectfully Submitted; CDR Resser |
Take from Wikipedia.

well if you use the cammo pattern and colors of the real guppy, it would surely confuse the enemy who saw it. :rotfl:

Second photo was taken in Istanbul. See the Hagia Sophia in the background.

Well, the GUPPY mods were done from '47 to '49, an interesting time when the US was starting to use subs for more clandestine spy ops...
