Which Version Of SH4 Are You Using?

The reason why I am asking is to see whether or not it would be worth it to make an adaptation of my latest Silent Fire mod for v1.4. I do have one for 1.4 but it doesn't have nearly as many additions to it.

You might not use the mod but the whole purpose is to get an idea of how many people are still using 1.4.

I use both 1.4 and 1.5, should of added the 1.4 and 1.5 option on the poll.

Hmmm. I just thought that wouldn't be practical.

Lagger, do you have two separate installs? If so, I'd love to know why, only because I've heard that 1.5 improves the American game as well.

I voted 1.5, even though I don't have it yet. I will have it by the time I actually start playing seriously.

One in Program files and one in my doc folder, some mods I like only go up to 1.4.

Ah, got it! Thanks for explaining.:sunny:

Of course 1.5. It's the most advanced and many of the great mods are already updated for it:up:

Thanks. I understand how to do it; I just didn't understand what you meant when you said you used both. I are not drain-bamaged.

Im using the 1.5 version.

Hylander_1314 05-07-08 09:24 AM

Still using 1.4. Not too enthusiastic about sailing a U-Boat in the Indian Ocean, or South Pacific.

STEED 05-07-08 09:29 AM

1.4 here as well, why the hell should I pay for an add on just to sail U-Boats down under which I am doing any way with GWX2.1 :arrgh!:

So...Whoever voted "Other" must be using v1.6, Right?

I also have two installs, 1.4 and 1.5. In my case, I cannot get the "Pacific Environment" MODs to work with 1.5. When i try, I get immediate crashes to BSOD with the first DD deck gun firing or first torpedo explosion. So I use W_Clear's "Environment MOD" with 1.5. When I want specific PE eye candy and/or FX, I run 1.4.

The issue effects others, specifically those using both VISTA and 8800GTX Graphics card. (as I do)... Something changed between 1.4 and 1.5 which effects 1.5's compatibility with VISTA in combination with 8800GTX and/or some aspect of the Pacific Environment MOD. All other MODs work fine with either 1.4 or 1.5.....and I have approximately 25-30 MODs enabled with each.

I'm surprised at the 1.4 users there are still. I think I might make one more upgrade for Silent Fire 1.4. This gives me an idea of a percentage of people that are not using the expansion.
