Peter van Uhm (Nijmegen, 15 July 1955) is the current commander-in-chief of the military of the Netherlands[1]. He succeeded Dick Berlijn on April 17 2008. Educated at the Koninklijke Militaire Academie, van Uhm is praised for his fair and effective style of management[2].
Van Uhm's son, lieutenant Dennis van Uhm, was killed in a roadside bombing in Uruzgan, the southern province of Afghanistan just one day after his father's assignment[3].

I wonder if he was deliberately targeted b/c of his father. Shortly after the war started the Taliban tried to assassinate a high-ranking US commander with a strike on his helicopter. They may be vicious but they're not stupid...
