need help with reinstall- I've had way too many CTD's
 

lately so I thought a clean reinstall would be the way to go-
here are my mods

SHIII v 1.4 patch
GWX 2.1
Uboat 1.2
SH3 commander
new Racerboy SH4 for SH3 for GWX2.1
various add on ships (von dos, etc)

can I reinstall without losing my current career ??? if so, how??

Yes you can still keep your current career
Was that a 2.1 career or older ???

Make a copy of the SH3 folder in my documents
Your career is in there
Add it back in after reinstall

I notice you are missing the 2.1 minor fixes mod

Make sure that is enabled after adding GWX 2.1

I would try the fix first before reinstalling. You should disable everything after GWX, enable the 2.1 patch, then re-enable everything else again. Either the patch will fix the CTD's, or you have something enabled(example, a certain ship mod) that is causing the CTD's. I don't see how just reinstalling SH3 will fix the problem, but save reinstalling as a last resort.

Uboat 1.2 might not be totaly compatible with GWX 2.1. Its possible thats the reason of your CTDs.
