'Carrier' documentary series

http://www.pbs.org/weta/carrier/

Has anyone else been watching this? It has aired all week long on PBS and will conclude this evening. I, as someone who has never served in the military, have found it a very interesting view into the day-to-day affairs of the crew on deployment. Very enjoyable.

I've been watching it when I can. It's a good documentary.

I've watched and loved many PBS Frontline documentaries. This'll be good.

I've been watching this and taping it. 'Groundhog Day' and 'Rites of Passage' were both very good.

The pitching deck ops in RoP was hi-lari-ous!

You beat me to the post:doh: . I'm watching it online, great show! It's interesting to compare carrier-folk to sub-mariners.

Carrier

This was a great documentary. I actually wanted to join after monday's showing. The Navy will not have trouble getting new recruits after this. there may even be some spill over for the subs. But one thing confused me, almost everyone one referred to the NIMITZ as a boat. We all know that that term is used by bubbleheads to describe submarines. I really felt sorry for the seaman with the two timing pregnant girl friend.

I've been watching it. Very interesting. They lost a man overboard on Wednesday (or was it Tuesday...). I think that was the same day they boarded the Iranian whaling boat.

Avators call a carrier a boat to make them selfs sound cool.

"I land a jet fighter on a boat." etc etc.
