I probably shouldn't be saying this but I am indirectly employed by HP (I work at a call center on a HP notebook contract). If its a notebook you can give us a call and either A. Send it in for service (best case 2 week turn around time) B. We can send out customer replaceable parts (RAM, HDD, WIFi card, and Optical drive) if you were really positive it was the memory and wanted to replace it yourself. There is a tight colateral policy on parts though (we take down your credit card number and you have 15 days to return the defective part or else we charge you for the new one, we pay for return shipping though so it costs you 0). If its a desk top things would be a little different, I think they can send a tech to your house on a desktop issue. This is all if your in warranty. If the warranty is up don't even bother as the prices you will have to pay for parts is rediculous.
