RIP Humphrey Lyttleton
Good innings this one but the host of "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" has died.
Humphrey Lyttleton Jazz Musician and raconteur was famous for his double entendres at the start of the show, all aimed at the completely fictional scorer, Samantha. I spent a frankly unrewarding half hour down there this morning, until Samantha generously offered to help me out. Strictly speaking, her contract doesn't cover research, and by asking her to have an unpaid poke amongst the record stack I might have put her in an awkward position, but she didn't mind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphrey_Lyttelton |
Quite a character in his time.
RIP Sir |
Oh no. :(
A sad loss for many. |
Just found another quote from Sir Humphrey. Ar the start of the show he would introduce the venue for Nottingham he had,
"Nottingham is a fine city with a fascinating history. It's well documented in official records that the city's original name was 'Snottingham', or 'Home of Snots', but when the Normans came, they couldn't pronounce the letter 'S', so decreed the town be called 'Nottingham' or the 'Home of Notts'. It's easy to understand why this change was resisted so fiercely by the people of S****horpe." |
:cry::cry::cry:

I don't believe it you can't name the picturesque fishing village of Sc*nthorpe on the forum.
