Where do you hunt for those big Catches?
So, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a thing for making the big catches. We're talking about single ships with a GRT over 20k (30k ideally) So, where do you hunt for your big fish?
The biggest I've bagged so far is a 31k GRT Revenge Class Battleship. Got him in BE59. So, where do you find your big fish? |
There is a Liner route across the Atlantic that approaches the southern tip of Ireland and enters the Bristol Channel. If you can find that you'll be tons in, but broadcasting it's exact co -ordinates would IMO be a game killer.

I always loiter there for a couple of days on the way out, and if I have any eels left, also on the way back seen the following big ones there.... Revenge BB Illustrious CV Hood BC Renown BC Nelson BB haven't managed to sink all those yet, but seen them thunder by at high speed oh, and if all else fails, there's always the Med  |
Besides the obvious :arrgh!: there's several ports that have large targets frequently/permanently parked there. Just have to start going raiding to find out which ones have what in them. Some don't have a massive ships, but can have a lot of 10,000 ton ships that you can still make a large haul out of. Early in the war seems the best time to find capital ships lying around everywhere, once found two Hoods inside Liverpool

Yup, those liners at high speed are hard to catch ;)

From Iceland where you will find a REVENGE in a convoy to Gibraltar where you may find an unescorted KGV. Then to Freetown for a NELSON and some LINERS from Brazil. Don't expect everything in front of your tubes! Hunting hunting hunting |
while they are at anchor :yep: :arrgh!:

The Sicily Channel in the Med. I've bagged the Aquitania twice - over 45k tons and only two eels (guess I didn't do the job right the first time. They managed to refloat her from over 1000m!)
There are plenty of large ships in the Med and the Sicily Channel is ideal for ambushing them. If it's under 5k tons, I usually let them go as there will be another one in a couple of days.
