GMX 2.1 single missions CTD

I purchased a new DVD that had the patches{v 1.4} for the express purpose to install GMX 2.1. I installed following the instructions and it plays fine. However, all of the Single Missions marked GMX caused a CTD. The few that are not marked that way play fine. So I uninstalled everything and using my old original copy reinstalled all the patchs,2.0 and GMX 2.1. The game still plays fine except that again all the GMX Single Misssions again caused CTD.

My computer is a Dell Dim. 720, Core duo 3.0GH with 2 G ram. Dual Nvidia 256 8600 video cards. The computer is 3months old.

Any suggestions?

Otto

I removed all but 3 mods and started the first mission w/[GMX] and I got a CTD.

I have no idea what the problem could be. Are you running any mods? Are you running XP or Vista?. Direct X ? (9c, 10 ?)
I tested every mission and they all ran fine on XP (except I kept getting killed).
Your rig should sail through SHII, GWX2.1.

Hi!

Can you tell us which of the single player missions caused a CTD when using the VIIC/41 Mod?

Hi!

Hi! I tried the "HMS Barham (GWX)" mission and it worked fine for me. Can you answer a few questions so we can isolate the problem?
Are you using any GWX optional mods (in case we overlooked an inter-mod incompatibility)? If so, which ones?

Are you using any mods concurrently with GWX (e.g., using JSGME)? If so, which ones?

Which missions (specifically) gave you the CTD?
Thanks!

Pablo

I don't remeber right now what missions causes the CTD's precisely... i remeber some missions (without the 'GWX' to the end of the name of the mission) causes the CTD while load the mission itself.

Hi!

OK. If you try any of the "GWX" missions again, please note which of them cause a CTD, as well as any other optional GWX mods or other mods that you have enabled (hopefully you use JSGME to do this), and we'll try to get it sorted out.

Thanks!

Pablo

I do not use the sub mod. I removed all mods except for three,Alt. Floatilla, Visable U mark and mergerd campains. Then I started up and clicked on the first s. mission and it started but then CTD. I have a jpeg emage of my Mods ,however, I don't know how to add them to a post.

Hi!

I have you down as installing the Alternate Flotillas mod, merged campaign, and Visible U-mark.

Of these, two appear to be GWX, and one is not. I'm guessing the "visible U-mark" is just a .tga file, so I will try the two GWX mods together and let you know what I find. If I can't duplicate the error, I will ask some more questions on your configuration.

BTW,
1) are you using Windows "Vista"?
2) are you using either the German or French language options for Silent Hunter III?
Thanks!

No I use Win XP w/SP2 and answer to #2 is no. However, I uninstalled and reinstalled with the new disk and only used u-mark and the tails mod. Then I started the first mission on the list and it loaded fine and played fine. I am going to add mods one at a time and see what happens. Thanks for you time and effort. I will post results when I am through.

I don't know if it makes a difference.
But I have Service Pack 3 for Windows XP installed.
I have not had one single CTD yet.
