guess why
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/6...tirpitztr7.jpg
date:01-08-1939 i started my first patrol from wilhelmshaven to BF17. leaving the port i looked around to see what's new in GWX2.1's harbour scenes. passing the breakwater i tooked a glance at the bb4 tirpitz and her mighty guns ... which were gone. i looked closer and .... also the mid-artillery was gone. ..... :hmm: ..... i thought about that for a while and i found these possible answers: 1) its the 1.st of august 1939, 4 month after the tirpitz was launched and nearly 1 and a half year before this ship will be put to service, so for now it's still under construction. 2) no need for the artillerys cos it's still peace time and nobody should be frightened. 3) for the moment the "kriegsmarinewerft wilhelmshaven" is bankrupt. the crane to lift these loads can't be optained. 4) 2 + 3 as well 5) the tirpitz should be shown with all 3d objects, there's something wrong and maybe i'll see things like that some more times. what is your opinion on that, kaleuns? Xeno |
I'll have to go with 1 or 5. If the ship is still under construction it would explain it. If it's finished there's no way they'd go around without the guns just because it's peacetime.
So, it's either still under construction or it's a glitch. 6) You have a corrupted file somewhere? |

it's just some kind of fun to think about other reasons. |
I noticed that too, and I'm in March 1940.
However, I have yet to see any other warships without turrets where they should be. Hmmm? :hmm: |
:rotfl:
No 1 is the answer.:yep: |
I've noticed it to, started on september 1939
It must be No1 |
They must capture them from Poland first :rotfl:

No 1......ask us something harder, like......when were the guns actually fitted.
Too late....the answer is between Nov 40 and Feb 41 ;) Actually the best clue is to look her up in the museum and go through the years. A couple of interesting links if you don't already have them http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif http://www.bismarck-class.dk/tirpitz...ittingout.html http://www.bismarck-class.dk/tirpitz...tirconstr.html |

no way, m8. my intention neither was to put some hard questions nor to explore the awareness of historical facts the kaleuns here have. topic of this is just to eliminate my doubts like "for the sake of realism the guys tried to point out that this ship still runs through its building period and that's why the arty's not where i expect it to be. but if it's still under construction, why aren't there any cranes or structural elements next to it, to support this suggestion clearly." ..stupid thoughts maybe but ... i found it quite hard here to differ between the intention to point out the ships building period or the very existence of a bug (corrupted files like some others already figured out) and considering bugs is something that makes me nervous and sometimes forces me to :damn: ... maybe i remembered GWX1 too much here which shows the tirpitz at exactly the same spot and environment but completely fitted. please don't get me wrong on this. a first class job it is to consider facts like the ships period of construction here.... like gwx is a first class job at all, no question on that, m8 and this hereby shall be pointed out clearly.:up: for now GOOD HUNTING!!! Xeno PS: and thanks for the links ... good stuff! |

I have the most likely answer:
7 - Bernard got hold of the Tirpitz, and took her out for a "test drive" |
