nice cool drink after a long patrol

Well, i made my first GWX 2.1 patrol to and from the United States East Coast after taking part in the opening rounds of Operation Paukenschlag. (using the recommended 512 compression when the time warranted) Its a long trek in a VIIC when the resupply boats are not yet on station and your trying your best to conserve fuel for chasing targets off Cape Hatteras. Hopefully i will get there again soon, with my feel of the area i have a good idea where i might run into some tankers!

But to the point of my post, just wondering how the rest of you Kaleuns unwind after a lengthy patrol (real life or imagined)

for me, a nice chilled glass filled with a generous helping of Disaronno on the rocks. Or perhaps a nice Leinenkugel's sunset wheat in a pilsner glass garnished with an orange slice, or a simple bottle of Beck's.

so what's your poison? :()1:

Hehe, that's a nice way to unwind there Rivet, I can imagine GWX2.1 needs that afterwards!
I usually take the booze DURING the patrol, and ending up swearing and cursing afterwards

I like to award the crew and myself a bottle of beer after a particularly hairy adventure

what would i do :hmm:
simple! refit and back to the sea :arrgh!:

:ahoy: I've just completed my third patrol in GWX 2.1 and the first in wartime got a total of 40000tons brt and know I'm enjoying cold glass of beer.
Cheers Kaleuns :()1:

I'm a bit partial to a drop of Nelsons Blood with either peppermint cordial or ginger wine. http://imgcash6.imageshack.us/img233...rty0036mk6.gif

This is my answer as well. Just imagine me standing there with the hydrophone set to my ear and screaming AHEAD FLANK while spitting beer everywhere when the depth charges are dropping.

Frank0001 04-22-08 12:24 PM

Hehe, I prefer taking an extra zip of beer when the depth charges are coming, instead of spitting it out!

OneToughHerring 04-22-08 01:45 PM

Appropriately, oyster stout.:arrgh!:

Nelson's blood straight is my favorite. I also do like a glass of Sam Adams if my throat is dry. :sunny:

Generally it seems the drink of choice after a good/stressfull patrol is Gatoraide (help lighten the hangover). When sneaking into Gibraltor, navigating minefields, spending a hour to get to Liverpool or some other nerve raking job seems that a lot of beer is consumed during patrol  Otherwise it half a bottle of beer for each of the crew and a full for the kaleun (usually a really really good local brew).

Wild Turkey Manhattan. Extra Peychaud's, stirred not shaken. After patrols only. Drinking like that in game is a good way to start a new carreer.
