Which radar set do you have?

IIRC, the first available radar set was the FUMO-29, which has sending and receiving noduals (two rows of six I believe it had) wraped around the front of the conning tower. This radar has a very small arc of approximately 20-degrees ahead of the boat. To get a greater arc, you have to turn the boat. FUMO-30 and later have real antenna on the conning tower with 360-degree coverage.

None of the radar sets had much to offer. Visual range on a clear day was usually greater than radar range. In bad weather and fog (when radar would have been useful), the waves tended to dirupt the performance. Also, when you turn radar on, the Allies will pick it up and head straight for you.

Also... what submarine are you using and which conning tower is fitted?

The VIIB, and i can use the radar, however doesn`t see the radar on the
conning tower.

try going to the deck gun without manning it then turn around and look at the turn can you see the Waffel and if so is it rotating ?????

The FUMO-29 radar antenna is fastened to the front of the conning tower, it is not a waffle antenna.
