How long in port?

FOr you guys that use SH3 Commander what do you normally set the number of days too between patrols? Just curious. I always left mine on the default but was wondering if some people set it lower to get more patrols.

Thanks:lol:

using actual careers of u-boat aces as an example (from uboat.net)... i averaged the total number of days for career length, then i averaged the number of those total dayswhich were spent at sea. by doing this i was able to determine an estimated average number of days spent in port.

i came up with what i personally consider to be an accurate time of anywhere between 20 and 30 days in port.

this is based on VII aces

Wow, the submariners have it relatively well then! 20 to 30 days without fighting, phew! The Luftwaffe should be jaleous

I use a random setting most of the time. Unless the boat is in a friendly port or resupply sub. I don't usually track that too much, but I would estimate 25 to 30 days. If I remember, two days for resupply sub, and about a week or so docked at a friendly port.

I use the Random setting as well. I once came back from a patrol in a Type II, not having fired a single torpedo, and they had me back out again in five days. On the other hand, it you're damaged it adds days, and JScones did a lot of research before he programmed the random factor. He also set it up so you can change the randome percentages yourself.

Nah, those flyboys may have to fight every other day or so, but they get to go home at night to their French chateaus and fine dinners with wine. They have nothing to complain about.:sunny:

30 days here....It's usually a few more dependant on what you upgrade. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

A lazy captain here. Atleast 40 days in port, unless they(superior officers) catch me sooner :smug:

:yep: Suffice to say I use the random setting, unless I'm in SE Asia where I use the average RL 55 days.

I do tweak a bit in 1939 and 1940 (increase the minimum from 5 days to 10) when I'm in anything larger than a Type II.

I keep the days in port on SH3 set to default.
