Renown for damaged ships?

Hello fellow kaleuns,

I was wondering, is there a renown-reward for damaged ships?
It wouldn't have been the first time that I had to leave a crippled ship alone, being out of torpedoes. The ships would have been seriously damaged, and out of commission for several months (if they would make it back to port at all). But I believe there is no renown awarded for this?

No.

You should only get renown after you receive the message "She's going down" http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...ies/pirate.gif

It's too bad really! Crippling a ship surely must've taken it's toll on their performance

True, it can be dead in the water but still able to float and if your out of fire power or you can do is. :damn:

Select big stuff and sink it, sod the rest.

This is an underwater game, no renown for floaters :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Haha yes that's true, for the crippled ships I'll call in the fly-boys of the Luftwaffe next time. (to steal away your renown, hehe).

In real life they salvages some ships that were sunk, so it all evens out because you don't lose renown for that.

So you actually sunk it, but didn't get renown because it stayed 'partially' above the waterline? I thought the renown was credited as soon as the word 'she's going down' has been given?

I reckon there were some Japanese pilots who wanted credit for the Yorktown before the battle of midway too

Thats how it happens, even if the ship is completely afloat after the She is going down message, renown is credited. When harbour raiding most, if not all, larger vessels stay above water partially, and depending on where your eels hit part of a ship may be still floating while another has hit the bottom.
